Dear Friends of The Way Church,
I trust this message finds you well and enjoying the holiday season with loved ones. As Christmas approaches and a new year is right around the corner, I wanted to provide you with a brief update on some exciting developments at The Way Church.
Moving Into Our First Location:
We are excited to announce that we have finalized an agreement with a church in Wadsworth to lease the upstairs portion of their building. This space, comprising three main areas, is ideal for our initial stages, with the flexibility to accommodate our growth. Additionally, the cost of rent in Wadsworth is much lower than in other locations, making it a great place for us to start. The necessary repairs to the heating system are underway, and we anticipate moving in within the next week or so.
Transition to Sunday Morning:
Our transition from Thursday evenings at 6 pm to Sunday mornings at 11 am is proceeding as planned, effective January 7th. We refer to this period, from January 7th to April 21st, as our soft launch, during which we aim to build our team, experience spiritual , numerical and financial growth. Our official launch service is scheduled for Sunday, April 28th. Your prayers for our transition phase and launch service are sincerely appreciated as we strive to fulfill our mission of “To Know Him and To Make Him Known.”
God Provides!:
I am pleased to share some recent blessings that God has given to The Way Church:
1. Our prayers for seating for our Sunday morning services have been answered. Through the generosity of Grace Church Akron East, we acquired over 50 church chairs at no cost. They have also offered to donate children’s church materials, exemplifying Christlike love.
2. Our IT director, Eric, secured a fantastic deal on two TVs post-Thanksgiving, enhancing our worship service and potentially MISSION Kids services as well.
3. Also, The building we’ve secured for our initial operations is a significant blessing, with rent costs significantly lower than comparable spaces in Wadsworth.
Leadership Meeting:
Our leadership team, comprising Pastor Steve, Pastor Dave, Tiffany (MISSION Kids Director), Loire (Worship Leader), and Eric (IT Director), will have an all-day vision casting leadership meeting on Saturday, January 27th. We look forward to defining our ministries, planning Sunday morning services in more detail, and strategizing for growth during our Soft Launch season (January-April). Your prayers for unity, guidance, and a shared vision during this meeting are coveted.
Last But NOT Least:
Our Thursday night gatherings at The Way have been a source of great joy. As we conclude our “Building Beyond” series in the book of Nehemiah, we’re grateful for the core group that has formed and contributed to meaningful bible study, prayer, and fellowship. Please continue to pray for the success of our transition to Sunday mornings in January.
